Affinity maturation is a process of improving antibody affinity and binding interactions to target antigen. Affinity maturation means that when the body encounters foreign substances, antibody gene rearrangement occurs in lymphocyte B cells, accompanied by high-frequency mutation of CDR in the hypervariable region to form lymphocyte B cells that can secrete antibodies with different affinity. Subsequently, low-affinity B cells die, and high-specificity and high-affinity B lymphocytes survive and recognize foreign species.
