Background	ROR 1 is a type I transmembrane protein that belongs to the receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor (ROR) family. ROR family members are now known to be receptors for the Wnt family signaling molecules Wnt 5 a / b and Wnt 16, with Wnt 5 a as the major ligand. ROR 1 mediates signalling in the nonclassical Wnt signaling pathway by binding to the ligand Wnt 5 a. This signal is involved in multiple cellular physiological processes and in the initiation and development of multiple cancers.
